Hospitality Reception

Friday night was the hospitality reception. We were blessed to have Grace Sonoda Fujimoto and her husband Alvin, get us this beautiful room at the California Hotel. We all had a wonderful time catching up with our old friends and making new ones as well.

Bowling…

Our first event was bowling at Sam’s Town about 15 minutes from the California Hotel. Teams were selected randomly and gave us all a chance to meet some new faces.

Arrivals…

Our 45th reunion started on Thursday, February 16th. While some of us arrived the day before most were arriving Thursday. Harvey and Jan’s room was the central pickup point for Thursday as the hospitality suite would not be available till Friday evening. So we jam packed all the reunion bags/raffle items/t-shirts/etc into a small 12′x12′ room and people started to arrive to pickup their “reunion goodie bag”. As they arrived, no one left!

Mahalo Class of 67!

Thank you Class of 67 for a grand time in Vegas. Our 45th reunion was a success because of the enthusiastic participation by all. Thanks to the planning committee for their dedication to taking care of the details. The generous donations by the mighty Knights, allowed the committee to create a memorable time for all attending. Many people played important roles, big and small that allowed everything to function smoothly! Mahalo Nui Loa! Imua Knights!

P.S. Stay tuned, as we will be posting more pictures over the next few days. (click on the image to see a larger view)

It’s Almost Here…Reunion Details!

We held our final meeting Saturday, January 21 at Cynthia Sodetani Iwai’s (thanks Cynthia for the ono eats!) to work on final details of our February 17th-19th 45th Class reunion. With still lots of details to workout we have the basic schedule laid out for your planning.

Information Packet/Bag Pickup:
For those arriving on Thursday, please stop by our room  (6-8pm) to pickup your information packet and bag. Our room number will posted on the California Hotel (West Tower) elevator bulletin board. (this is Thursday only). If arriving on Friday, the hospitality room will be open from 9-12 noon. Look to the Cal bulletin board for the room number.

Hospitality Room:
A hospitality room will be available starting on Friday at The Cal (thanks Grace Sonoda Fujimoto) for all to meet and talk story. See schedule for times open.

Bowling & Slots:
Bowling will be at Sam’s Town and will start at 2 pm on Friday. You must be there no later than 1 pm to get situated with your team. (Please remember to bring your socks.) The Slot Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, at 9 am, Main Street Station. When picking up your information packet, please inform us of your participation of both events.

Golf:
If you want to get a game in during your visit to Vegas, please contact Wayne Smith.

Share your family:
Please bring pictures of your family to share. We will have a “PostIt” board in the hospitality room for you to put up your family photos to share. Use the erasable marker to tell us about them.

Memorabilia Table:
If you have any items from our high school days or anything from that period of interest, please bring it with you to share. Nolan Higa will be coordinating this. We will have a table at the banquet on Saturday.

Raffle Table:
We’re looking for raffle donations. Linda Higa Nyman is coordinating. If you have something to add to the raffle table, please contact Linda and bring it with you to the Hospitality Room. Two raffle tickets will be part of your information packet and can be used while viewing the available raffle items at the Hospitality Room. (Additional raffle tickets can also be purchased.) Winners will be announced on Saturday night at the banquet.

Photos:
Harvey will be taking photos again, like he did at the 60th birthday reunion, from 6:00-6:45.  Think about who you would like to have pictures taken with and see him. Photos will be available for pickup on Sunday at the hospitality room after 12 noon.

Group Picture:
During our banquet, we will take a group photo (6:45pm) before the festivities start. Please be there on time so we can get this done and the evening started.

More details…are in the attached schedule (a final version will be in your packets on arrival). Please call/email us if any questions. (Click here for SCHEDULE)

Ono!!! Eat first, talk later.

It’s not too late…don’t let it be a missed opportunity!

Everyone is excited about our 45th reunion! (Some of you guys even went practice bowling.) It’s still not too late to register. We had a cutoff date in order to guarantee t-shirt sizes. All the plans are coming together and we expect to announce details of the agenda for the planned three days of celebration by next week. Check back here for details and those with emails will receive a copy in your inbox. Aloha!
